Date Night Giftbox And Hashtag Whoops…
Everytime that I am invited to something and I need to bring a gift, I say to myself, “Brooke, just make it easy on yourself and just buy a gift this time.” Every. Single. Time. It never works. I talk myself into getting a Target gift card, but every single time, I end up making something. This date night gift box was for a bridal shower. I got an unfinished wood serving tray and I wood burned their names into it, and painted their initials on wine glasses. She really loved it.
So a little bit of time passed and it is time for the wedding. I give myself enough time because I know I don’t want to wait until the last minute like I always do. Well, I actually finished up the morning of the wedding. No big deal, it was done. As I was getting read to get ready, I looked at the time on the invitation one last time. Something also caught my attention. The name on the invitation and the name on the artwork are two different things!
For a lot of the materials they sent, they had #nealyweds. I guess in my old age and really not understanding twitter, I thought the last name was Nealy. Nope! The bride was just being clever. The last name was Neal. So here I am, a few hours before the wedding and I had NOTHING! Nick and I just ended up being that couple. We didn’t get anything, but I told the bride what I did and at least she had a good laugh. Come to think of it. I still haven’t gotten them anything.
